Mark Taylor of the Rocky Mountain Paddling Center designed the Spirit West Quick Pack Throwbag, which is constructed in Calgary by Spirit West Outdoors. Two versions are available: one made from Polypropylene for simpler rescues and the other made from NFPA rope for more complex situations that need mechanical advantage. The bag closes easily with a button closure system and unloads quickly with its large wire bucket opening. Canoers especially appreciate the foam-reinforced flat back of the bag, which fits neatly on their deck plates.
