AQ Outdoors / Aquabatics Edmonton is stoked to welcome you to a list of paddling locations in the Lakeland area. Located only 3 hours north of Edmonton, Alberta, this region really is a paddlers dream zone. You can literally throw a rock in any direction and you will hit a lake (that you can paddle!).
Loads of camping and wildlife to be explored, it truly is the land of the lakes. Either if you are a recreational, tour, fisherman or even a bit of a whitewater kayaker, the Lakeland area has you covered.

Where to Kayak/SUP/Canoe Lakeland
COLD LAKE, BONNYVILLE & AREA
Cold Lake: A great large lake for recreational, touring and fishing kayakers. Located in Cold Lake, Alberta. The lake is very clean and full of wildlife. With many corners and bays to paddle in, and many campsites to overnight in for your weekend destinations.
Timeline: A couple of hours to a multi day adventure
Moose Lake: Is a fantastic lake for recreational, touring, SUP and fishing kayakers. Located near Bonnyville, Alberta. This lake is great for day long adventures. Lots of wildlife, camp spots and neat destinations that are easily accessible on the water.
Tucker Lake: Great small lake tucked away between Bonnyville and Cold Lake, Alberta. Great lake to paddle around with good fishing and camping along the edge. A great windy day option as it has plenty of protected bays and inlets.
Hilda Lake : Great small lake with lots of corners to adventure around. Has good fishing with a public and private campground located right on the water.
So, there is a small sampling of where to paddle in and around the Lakeland area. Bonnyville and Cold Lake have a lifetime of lakes to explore and a long weekend trip from Edmonton is a fantastic escape.
