That's roughly 158 g lighter per pair than the standard Surge ST while maintaining the solid baseplate and supportive feel that make the Surge Spark's more powerful binding platform.
Surge Performance Without the Standard Surge Weight
The Surge ST Pro starts with a solid CNC-machined baseplate designed for stiffness, durability, and direct power transfer. Compared with Spark's lighter, more flexible Arc platform, the Surge is the better choice for larger or more aggressive riders and anyone who prioritizes response and control when riding steep or technical terrain.
The Pro treatment then removes weight from the components surrounding that stiff platform. The result is a binding that maintains the powerful character of the Surge while making long approaches, big vertical days, and multi-day objectives noticeably more efficient.
Carbon-Reinforced Asym Rip 'N' Flip Highbacks
The Surge ST Pro Asym Rip 'N' Flip Highbacks use carbon-reinforced nylon for increased stiffness and response at a lower weight than Spark's standard glass-reinforced highbacks. Their asymmetrical shape is designed around left- and right-foot ergonomics for improved comfort and control.
Spark's Rip 'N' Flip system makes switching between touring and riding straightforward, allowing you to quickly change from a more touring-friendly highback position to the forward lean you want for the descent.
