Prior Slasher Splitboard – Freeride “Quiver Killer” Swallowtail for Tight Carves, Deep Float & All-Conditions Backcountry Days

Handmade in Whistler, BC, the Prior Slasher Splitboard is Prior’s freeride quiver-killer split built around a long powder nose, short radius, and a compact swallowtail, an ideal recipe for riders who want quick, tight turns in trees and technical terrain, plus effortless float when it’s deep. Upgraded with Spark R&D hardware.

Inspired by the Powstick and Fissile, the Slasher is designed to “slay all terrain from top to bottom” staying surfy and buoyant in powder, but still capable of railing turns and handling crud, hardpack, and variable snowpack when conditions change.

Powder Rocker + Swallowtail Shape – Float, Agility & Turn-After-Turn Fun

The Slasher’s Powder Rocker camber profile and directional swallowtail shape are tuned for easy planing and quick direction changes. The longer pow nose helps keep the board riding high in deeper snow, while the short swallowtail and short radius sidecut make it feel nimble and eager to slash, carve, and pivot through tighter lines.

Sizing note: Prior suggests riding the Slasher about 3–7 cm longer than your current ride, since the elongated nose doesn’t fully engage unless you’re in the deep stuff.

Construction – Tour-Ready Performance with Quad-Glass (Standard) or XTC Carbon (Upgrade)

For the Prior Slasher Splitboard, we’re focusing this build on Quad-Glass (Prior’s standard layup). Prior describes Quad-Glass as their quad-axial glass/carbon composite, a stitched fabric with fibers running in four directions for a responsive, long-lasting ride with strong torsional stability.

XTC Carbon is also available as an upgrade across Prior splitboards and is designed to reduce weight versus the standard Quad-Glass build—contact us if you’d like to special order XTC Carbon.

Prior Slasher Splitboard – Frequently Asked Questions

What type of rider is the Slasher Split best for?
The Slasher is for directional freeride riders and powder hounds who want the added benefits of a swallowtail—float, agility, and a surfy feel, without giving up versatility for mixed conditions.
What makes the Slasher different from a standard freeride split?
The Slasher pairs a longer pow nose, short radius, and a small swallowtail to create a board that feels incredibly quick and “slashy” in trees and tight terrain, while still staying composed in open bowls and variable snow.
How does the Powder Rocker profile ride?
Powder Rocker is tuned for easy float and smooth turn entry in soft snow, while keeping enough support and stability for hardpack, crud, and variable backcountry conditions.
Why choose Quad-Glass construction?
Prior’s Quad-Glass (quad-axial E-glass / glass-carbon composite) is built for a responsive, durable ride with excellent torsional stability, ideal for riders who want dependable performance and to keep more beer money in their pocket.
Is XTC Carbon available for the Slasher?
Yes, Prior offers XTC Carbon as a lightweight upgrade option to reduce weight versus the standard Quad-Glass construction. Call to order.
What size Slasher should I choose?
Prior suggests sizing the Slasher about 3–7 cm longer than your current board because of the elongated pow nose. If you share your height/weight/boot size, we can recommend the best length and width for your terrain.
