Multi Purpose inserts are CNC machined using Marine Starboard to withstand the elements for the long term. Although more costly than HDPE the quality and performance of the product are worth the difference. And yes the will float!
For those who strictly use the insert for‚ protecting your kayak and drive during transport and storage, the gasket has been left off intentionally. Your insert also serves as a great fish cleaning board or a handy board for working on gear.
