Simon Coward
Simon a commencé à enseigner vers 1997 ou 1998 après avoir suivi une formation de deux ans dans un institut polytechnique en Nouvelle-Zélande, où il a appris le métier. Il enseigne depuis lors, sous une forme ou une autre.
Il privilégie les aspects techniques et fondamentaux de l'enseignement du canoë-kayak, convaincu que quelques compétences de base constituent le socle de toute pratique et contribuent à accélérer l'apprentissage.
Du point de vue de la progression, la rivière préférée de Simon pour l'enseignement est la Kananaskis, bien qu'il aime appliquer ces compétences sur de nombreuses autres rivières – trop nombreuses pour être nommées.
Requin plongeur
Diver partage sa passion pour le kayak depuis plus de quatre ans avec AQ Outdoors, après avoir d'abord organisé des voyages avec Paddle Junkies.
Pour Diver, l'enseignement ne se résume pas à une compétence spécifique ; il s'agit de ces moments magiques d'illumination où tout s'éclaire et où un pagayeur progresse soudainement. C'est cet enthousiasme partagé qui le motive sur l'eau.
Son endroit préféré pour enseigner est la rivière Crowsnest, en aval des chutes Lundbreck.
Jay Isaak
Jay a débuté sa carrière d'instructrice en 2023, et il s'agit de sa troisième saison sur l'eau. En tant que coordinatrice de programme, elle joue un rôle essentiel dans l'élaboration et le soutien de l'expérience, tant pour les participants que pour les instructeurs. Elle enseigne principalement aux jeunes et prend plaisir à observer leurs progrès tout au long de la saison.
Pour elle, les week-ends jeunesse sont un moment fort, car ils permettent aux jeunes pagayeurs d'amener leurs familles pour partager ces moments de plaisir. Qu'elle travaille avec des débutants au passage Harvie ou qu'elle encadre des kayakistes sur la rivière Kananaskis, Jay apporte énergie, organisation et enthousiasme à chaque séance.

Catered Multi-Day Raft-Assisted Courses (Includes: Kootenay River Raft-Supported Kayak Trip)
Meals and water are included from Lunch on Day 1 to Lunch on Day 4. We provide all kitchen equipment, including plates and eating utensils. We also provide toilet paper, hand sanitizer, and a trowel for the washroom. You will camp in a new spot each night along beautiful springs, waterfalls, beaches, or mossy treed sites.

What You Need To Bring: Clothes
- Any personal paddling gear you plan to use
- Long underwear tops and bottoms for under your suit (no cotton!)
- Multiple pairs of long underwear and socks (no cotton) as nights can be cold
- A swimsuit if you are wearing a wetsuit
- Closed-toe shoes for kayaking and walking
- Dry warm clothes for the evenings suitable for mountain camping (rain jacket, gloves, hat)
- Extra evening shoes (must be different from your kayaking shoes)
Camping Equipment
- Tent, sleeping pad, sleeping bag, pillow
- A mug for hot drinks
- A water bottle that can fit in a kayak and a small dry bag for lunch
- Personal medications and toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, hand sanitizer)
- Camp chair
- Flashlight or headlamp
- Sunscreen, sunglasses, sun hat, lip balm
- Bear spray (optional)
- Book, games, or evening entertainment
Full Day Whitewater Kayaking Courses (Intro to Whitewater, Beyond the Intro, Next Step, etc.)

- A long-sleeve shirt is great for comfort under farmer-john style wetsuits
- A towel and dry warm clothes for after the course

- Optional: Thin neoprene or synthetic/wool hat for under your helmet on colder days
