This past Sunday we headed out for the first Splitboard HQ guided day offering for the season.  Blue skies and cool temps greeted us in Lake Louise well before the sun rose.  As they say, the early bird catches the worm and our crew of 7 (plus myself and ACMG mountain guide Tom Wolfe) managed to beat the crowds to Secret/Sugar Bowl (just a drainage south of Bow summit) for 4 amazing pow laps.  When we rolled in, the zone was an untouched canvas of boot top to knee deep powder.  After we had put 36 tracks in it (plus some more from other groups), well, it looked like sunshine village on a Sunday.  A mighty fine feeling getting to track out a zone in such great condition.

I will let the video below do the talking, but it is safe to say we all racked up a fine day of pow turns. Looking all over the 93 north valley we could see lots of tracks from others having the best day ever also!  Hope everyone is enjoying the stable conditions and great snow.  Looks like another warm up could be on the cards.  Lets hope for no more crusts!
