Alberta Slalom Canoe and Kayak, NRS, Dagger Kayaks and Aquabatics Calgary are super stoked to announce the 4th Annual Toby Creek Kayak Festival for 2018.  The dates for this years event are July 27th - 29th.

Categories for 2018

SATURDAY

  • Intermediate Division:  This race is run on a Class 2/3 section of river with a long runout and plenty of safety.  There are 5 slalom gates on the course.  Competitors can train on the course in the morning.  Run 1 is a qualification lap and then Run 2 is the final.  Your time on run 2 is your final time and will determine your final rank.   Max 30 competitors.
  • Advanced Division: This division is run on a continuous Class IV section of whitewater.  Race organizers and competitors will provide safety for the race ONLY.  Racers get 2 runs and their best time counts.  The course has 5 gates through the 250m (approx.) course.  Max 30 competitors.
  • Elite Division Preliminary Round:  This division is run on a continuous Class IV section of whitewater.  Race organizers and competitors will provide safety for the race ONLY.  Racers get 2 runs and their best time counts.  The course has 5 gates through the 250m (approx.) course.  The top 12 in both mens and womens races will go through to the main final on Sunday.  Max 30 competitors.

SUNDAY

  • Elite Division Finals:  This will be for the money (so to speak).  The top 12 qualifiers from Saturday will go into the main final where they will have one run to get the fastest time possible.  This time will be added to their qualifying time from the Saturday.  The combined time will be competitors final tally.  Fastest combined times win.  Water level dependent but this will likely be run on the Slipping Rock rapid On the Sunday morning.  This venue is prime for spectating and will be a very exciting cap to a great weekend.  Max 12 top qualifying mens and womens competitors from Saturday

We have camping available free with registration, trailers, tents etc are all welcome.  It is basic and with minimal facilities though it is a beautiful property right by all the meetings, meals etc.
